Limited to eight guests per day, our “Kamakura-bori Dinner” experience offers a meticulously crafted full-course menu, from appetizers to desserts, featuring the essence of Kamakura carvings. Delight in dishes designed to tantalize your taste buds while appreciating the beauty of valuable Kamakura carvings. As a souvenir, you may bring home the chopsticks with original Kamakura carvings from Hakkodo.

Kamakura-bori is a traditional lacquerware carving technique originating in the Kamakura period (c. 1185–1333). It involves carving patterns into woods such as katsura and ginkgo, then finishing the piece with multiple layers of lacquer. Beginning with Buddhist altar fittings, it evolved into everyday items like tea ceremony utensils, trays, and lacquered boxes. It is a representative traditional craft of Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
